Christmas markets in Germany are the highlight of this tour because simply put, they are the best in the world. Weihnachtsmarkte in Germany are unique because they are held according to ancient traditions that make them a festive fun activity. Each market we visit varies according to the local region's customs and culture. During the markets, you will meet people dressed in traditional clothing, have the opportunity to sample German delicacies, and stroll the alleys cloaked with the melodic sound of Christmas carols. Itinerary & Details:
DAY 1 - November 30- Welcome to Germany! Arrive at Munich (MUC) Airport, and private transportation will take you to your accommodations. Munich is the Bavarian capital and home to centuries-old buildings, numerous museums, and some of the largest breweries in Germany. After settling into your hotel, you will enjoy a walking City tour. At the end of the tour, you will have time to explore the Medieval Christmas market on Wittelsbacher Platz. The vendors wear period costumes and food is roasted over a traditional open fire. Then you will enjoy a welcome dinner with your new travel companions.
DAY 2- December 1 - Today you will experience the winter wonderland of Munich's Christkindlmarkt at Marienplatz (main square). This market is most special and one of Germany's largest and its traditions dates back to 1583. You will have a magical time taking in all the performances, local festive crafts, and food vendors. This market has the largest Nativity scene market. You will meet with your travel group for dinner.
DAY 3 - December 2 - Today, your group will embark on a picturesque trip to Rothenburg ob der Tauber. You will love the quaint city, the shops, and walking along the wall. After spending the day exploring the magical medieval walled city, and the Christmas market in Rothenburg's old town, you will travel back to Munich.
DAY 4 - December 3- FREE DAY - You will have time today to enjoy the city, visit a museum, or perhaps revisit your favorite Christmas markets. Munich has so much to offer, take your time and enjoy it. You will meet up with your travel friends for a Beer tour and dinner.
DAY 5 - December 4 - Today we will take a journey to Ulm. We will start with a city tour and see the tallest church in the world, then enjoy the Ulmer Weihnachtsmarkt. Spend the afternoon trying new foods, drinking Gluhwein, and shopping! After enjoying the market, we will return to Munich.
DAY 6- December 5- Today you travel to Bavaria's second-largest city, Nuremberg, One of the oldest and largest Christmas markets in Germany is located here. You will tour the city, then go to explore the Christmas market. You can try the famous 600-year-old traditional Lebkuchen and gingerbread cake. You will have time to visit the children's Christmas market as well. You will take the train back to your hotel.
DAY 7 - December 6- Relax this morning then you will travel to Augsburg to visit the Augsburg Christmas market in the historic center. It's one of Germany's oldest markets, originating as early as the 15th century. It delights visitors with its original appeal and charm. You will have time to explore the market - over 130 stalls! Stop at the post office and mail some Christmas cards home then in the evening you will watch the angel performance. 24 angels appear and transform the building into a huge advent calendar. Return to Munich.
DAY 8-December 7-Today you will be escorted to the Munich International Airport (MUC) for your flight back to the US. . It is not good-bye, it is see you later!

Day 1- December 8- Willkommen in Osterreich! Arrive at Vienna International Airport (VIE). Private transport will take you to your accommodations in central Vienna. After settling in, you will explore the city during a walking tour and see all Vienna offers. You will join your new travel companions for a welcome dinner at a local restaurant before witnessing the grandeur of the Belvedere Christmas Market.
DAY 2- December 9 - A Birds Eye view of the city is a great way to get acquainted with Vienna! Join your group this morning for a ride on Vienna's Ferris wheel before exploring the city's largest Christmas market: Christkindlmarkt on the Rathausplatz. We will attend a Christmas concert at St. Peters' Church and then have dinner.
DAY 3- December 10 - Today you will travel to charming Salzburg, Austria to see the city and Christmas market. After enjoying your time in Salzburg, you will travel to beautiful Zurich, Switzerland. After checking into your accommodations, you will join your travel friends for dinner before witnessing the traditional Swiss Christmas village at Sechselautenplatz.
DAY 4- December 11- Today will be your day to explore Zurich. You will go on a city tour and explore the Christmas markets. You will visit the heart of Zurich's main shopping strip. There you will find the Zurich City Christmas Market, where rustic wooden chalets sell a wide variety of unique handicrafts and tasty food items to fuel you as you shop. With its location between two giant department stores, this is an ideal Christmas market to visit to finish your Christmas shopping. Later in the day, you will explore another Christmas market in Zurich's old town, the charming Dorfli Weinachtsmarkt, where you'll find market stalls scattered all around the area's picture-perfect pastel streets. DAY 5- December 12- Today we will catch a train to Strasbourg, France. This town is magical. Its Christmas markets are the first in France dating as far back as the 12th century. After going on a city tour, you will enjoy the Christmas markets. The oldest and most historic Christmas market is the Christkindelsmarik at Place Broglie. You will meet your travel companions for a group dinner.
DAY 6- December 13- Let's see some magical Christmas markets today. First, the Strasbourg Christmas market at Place de la Cathedrale, one of the most famous landmarks in Strasbourg is its towering Cathedrale Notre Dame de Strasbourg. Next, you will visit the Alsatian Delicacies market at Place du Marche-des-Poissons and the Patio of Palais Rohan. This idyllic market can be found along the water, with chalets selling local wines, craft beers, and other lovely gifts to bring home. You will have the afternoon free to enjoy this beautiful city on your own or just relax. Later, meet up with your travel companions for a group dinner.
DAY 7- December 14 - Today you will travel to Cologne, Germany. You will check into your accommodations and then explore the city on a Christmas Market & Kolsch Beer tour. Starting at the second-oldest brewery in town, you'll munch on local appetizers as you dive into your first pint. Then it is off to several Christmas markets, where you will catch live music, see the vendors and sample mulled wine. The tour wraps up in another brewhouse, warming you back up for dinner. Day 1 - Arrive at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS), and private transportation will take you to your accommodations for the week. After settling into your hotel, your group will get to know each other over a local welcome dinner.
Day 2 - Today you will enjoy a trip to the countryside. You will visit a cheese factory, windmills, 17th-century houses, and fields of tulips. You will have time to wander down narrow streets, past colorful houses, and visit the harbors full of fishing boats. You will have some free time to shop for souvenirs and sample the local fish specialties.
Day 3 - FREE DAY. Enjoy shopping throughout the city or take a scenic bike ride through the countryside. Cycling in Amsterdam is the most authentic way to travel. There are around 515kn (320 miles) of dedicated cycle lanes in Amsterdam, thus making it the perfect setting to cycle the city, or beyond. The countryside area is famous for its quaint villages, historic towns, farms, nature reserves, and lakes. You will have lots of opportunities to stop and take one-of-a-kind photos of the picturesque sightings. You could walk the city and enjoy all the canals and bridges. There is so much to do in this magical city.
Day 4 - Today, you will take a memorable tour of the Anne Frank House. Discover Amsterdam's WWII history and follow in the footsteps of Anne Frank as she goes into hiding in the Secret Annex. Jewish Anne Frank hid in 1942 from the Nazis during the occupation of the Netherlands; two years later she was discovered and died in 1945 at the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. The Diary of Anne Frank was written while she and her family were in hiding during the WWII as they attempted to evade the Nazis. Her famous diary was found and is the most well-known diary of the six million Jews who died in the Holocaust.
Day 5- Your group will spend today at the famous Keukenhof Garden, known as the Garden of Europe. This is one of the world's largest flower gardens and found to be the most beautiful in spring. Keukenhof Park covers an area of 32 hectares and has approximately 7 million flower bulbs planted in the garden annually. Make sure to have your camera ready to capture all of the vibrant colors and unique displays at the Keukenhof Garden! In the evening, visit the Red Light District and attend an erotic show (if desired). We'll wind our way through the cobblestone streets of Amsterdam's most iconic neighborhood to experience the atmosphere, red-lit windows, and off-beat culture of Amsterdam.
Day 6- FREE DAY - Enjoy the cobblestone streets of Amsterdam. Go for a canal boat tour, see the floating flower market, or just relax - it is your day!!!
